Plumb Club To Host Webinar On Cyber Attacks

The Plumb Club will host a webinar on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 2pm EDT to help retail jewelers arm themselves against one of the biggest threats they face today – Cyber-Attack! The webinar will feature Tim Rettig, president and CEO of IntrustIT, an award-winning business technology provider specializing in cyber-security, SPAM protection, backup and disaster recovery.

The webinar will include real stories behind the cyber-security headlines, providing the jewelry industry with specific actions to protect their company, themselves and their family from cyber threats. Additionally, attendees will learn best practices, as well as tips and tools that are immediately and easily implementable.

Further, the webinar will cover:
· Who covets a company's data?
· What is the dark web and how much of your company and personal/family information is on it?
· Where is the biggest cyber-security blind spot for most companies?
· Why a simple email breach may be a bigger threat than an armed robbery?
· How to properly secure a company's bank account.
· When to call the insurance company after a security incident.

“We hear daily examples of accounts being ‘hacked’ online. It’s happening all around us and nobody is truly safe from the threat,” says Lawrence Hess, executive director of The Plumb Club. “As part of our mission to help educate the industry, this subject and how to defend against an attack is not only timely, but one of the highest priorities for jewelers today. We’re happy to be able to help the industry protect themselves.”

Tim Rettig added, “Often, these types of presentations are full of boring statistics and non-specific recommendations. This presentation will not be the case. I will provide the newest insights into the rapidly developing world of cybercrime.”

All jewelry retailers are invited to register for this important and timely webinar at: plumbclub.com/events/webinar-cyber-security

About Tim Rettig
Tim Rettig is a second-generation entrepreneur in the IT industry. Tim’s father started a software company in 1978, where Tim grew up learning data communications. At the age of 19 he was installing computer networks for cities and police departments throughout Ohio, choosing to start his own IT company in the early 1990s while still in college. Tim's new company handled projects such as securely interconnecting US Department of Agriculture offices throughout the Midwest. Tim sold the company four short years after starting it, only to buy it back eleven years later. In his 30+ years in the IT industry Tim has bought and sold numerous businesses. Today he is President and CEO of Intrust IT, a Cincinnati based IT company that simplifies cyber security for businesses of all sizes. Tim has the unique perspective of being a business owner concerned about cyber security, combined with a deep understanding of information technology.
