Alexandra Hart, Metals Artist and Designer Goldsmith, who is known for using, will join him and promoting ethically sourced and recycled materials for couture and conceptual art jewelry. Having Hanna and Hart present together will set the stage for the conference, which aims to engage with all sectors of the jewelry industry, from large corporations to smaller, artistic designers and retailers.
Co-organized by Susan Wheeler, Susan Wheeler Designs and Ethical Metalsmiths, the purpose of the conference is to bring valuable education about responsible sourcing initiatives within the jewelry industry to stakeholders located in the middle of the U.S. “I saw a need to bring information about ethical sourcing within the jewelry industry to the many stakeholders that might not have the opportunity to travel to the coasts or Las Vegas for other industry seminars,” stated Susan Wheeler, initiator of the conference. “We are thrilled that Mr. Hanna will kick off our two-day event as keynote, adding to an impressive lineup of industry leaders who will also present on this valuable topic.”
Mark stated, “Richline Group’s objective is to share with, and learn from, others throughout industry, with the goal of increasing transparency and responsible sourcing and ultimately growing consumer confidence in all jewelry industry products.”
The Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference will be held at Columbia College Chicago, Film Row Cinema building, 4th Floor, 1104 S Wabash Ave, Chicago IL and is open to all interested industry attendees. The conference will include a screening and panel discussion of the movie Sharing the Rough with Orin Mazzoni, producer.
