On May 3-4, 2019, WatchTime Los Angeles will launch at Hudson Loft in downtown LA, becoming the West Coast’s first-ever two-day luxury event dedicated to wristwatch enthusiasts. WatchTime LA is designed to connect consumers, the serious watch collector, the enthusiast, and the watch-curious, directly with over 30 of the world’s leading luxury brands. Now LA-based watch lovers can get in on the exciting and educational social experience and celebration of high horology timepieces for which WatchTime Events is renowned and see the latest timepieces from over 30 premier international brands including Greubel Forsey, A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Grand Seiko, Romain Gauthier, HYT, and more.
WatchTime Events, produced by WatchTime Magazine, now encompasses both WatchTime LA and its sister event, the long-running annual WatchTime New York show, which will celebrate its fifth consecutive year this October 25-26 at Gotham Hall. Each WTNY event has been produced in partnership with luxury lifestyle platform Watch Anish, and the new LA event will reprise the long-running media partnership with Watch Anish, while Bhindi Jewelers will serve as the show’s West Coast retail partner. The Manhattan-based show has evolved into a world-class destination event marked by record attendance, and WatchTime Magazine has launched the LA event to meet demand from its international network of collectors.
Here is a first look at the two-day WatchTime LA event schedule:
Friday, May 3rd:
Admission of $150 covers entry for the entirety of the two-day WatchTime LA event, including the much-anticipated Friday-night VIP cocktail party on May 3rd from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., which offers exclusive first access to the exhibiting brands and their latest timepieces, fresh from their worldwide debuts at SIHH and Baselworld, or brand new timepieces debuting worldwide at the event. Party attendees will also enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while mingling with industry VIPs, brand executives and CEOs, and WatchTime editors.
Saturday, May 4th:
WatchTime Los Angeles will continue on Saturday, May 4th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a full day of curated presentations and industry panels geared to watch lovers of all levels, from established watch collectors to budding enthusiasts. After a panel and Q&A led by WatchTime Editor-in-Chief Roger Ruegger, noted collector and consultant Jeff Kingston will take registered guests on a tour of the WatchTime LA show floor to offer expertise and insights on each brand in an intimate small group setting. Kingston’s by-appointment tours have historically been one of the great highlights for the show guests in NY, and it can be expected that the LA tours will also hit capacity quickly. Saturday-only admission is $50.
“WatchTime New York has become a destination event for collectors and for the industry, and over the years, many West Coast collectors have requested their own event in LA. We tested the waters with several one-day events on Rodeo Drive, which were very well received, and it became clear that LA’s vibrant watch scene needed and deserved its own two-day collectors’ event. Hudson Loft in downtown LA makes the ideal venue for the first edition of WatchTime Los Angeles, as it offers the perfect production space to maintain the laid-back yet luxurious atmosphere that is synonymous with our signature events,” said Sara Orlando, WatchTime Publisher, continuing: “LA attendees will get the opportunity to see the newest luxury timepieces first, flown in to LA fresh from their debuts at SIHH and Baselworld, while participating watch brands will get the chance to interact directly with LA’s most enthusiastic watch lovers.”
