RJ has re-invented itself on every level in 2018, starting with a new official name. As part of this brand re-set, the Swiss watchmaker has appointed 33-year old Marco Tedeschi as the CEO of RJ. Tedeschi continues to define a new era for RJ with a new manufacture, the so-called RJ Studio, his creative direction and modernized DNA as it sets out to make iconic, ambitious, and culturally-relevant contemporary luxury watches.
“We are thrilled to take this momentum to Basel this month as RJ re-sets and moves to establish a wholly new retail network in the Americas. This region has always been a very important market for our brand. Opening up our own subsidiary in the US was the logical next step, enabling us to get closer to all market players,” says Marco Tedeschi.
RJ has appointed Benoit Vulliet as its new Managing Director of the Americas. Vulliet brings many years of international experience in the watch industry where he was responsible for luxury brands in the North and South American markets. He has plans to meet with a host of new retail partners in Basel this month to lay the new foundations for RJ’s brand distribution and invite new retail partners throughout North America.
From March 21st – 24th 2019, RJ will showcase its latest watch novelties at the Swissotel le Plaza/Basel, including the ARRAW 6919, an in-house 360° moon phase timepiece made with authentic material from the Apollo 11 spacecraft which first placed man on the moon. RJ will also highlight its first ever models dedicated to women. The new STAR TWIST collection features playful, interactive spinning bezels and galactic mother-of- pearl dial designs. RJ will also present its recent DC comics collaboration, this time referencing two of Batman’s arch villains: ARRAW Two-Face and ARRAW The Joker.
RJ designs, produces and constructs high-end Swiss watches. RJ Collaboration watches are inspired by the most famous comic superheroes like Batman and Spider-Man, or the most iconic video games like Super Mario, Space Invaders or Pac-Man.
