The International Gemological Institute (IGI) announced its participation at India’s 2012 National Jewellery Awards (NJA), to be held Jan. 6, 2012. The Institute is serving as the primary sponsor of the event, which is organized by the All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), an association focused on the promotion and growth of the gems and jewellery industry in India.
Initiated last year to provide recognition from the industry to the industry, NJA honors unique creations and distinguishes noteworthy talent among all sectors of the jewellery trade. Made up of four main sections – retailer jewellery, manufacturer jewellery, best manufacturer and best wholesaler – and 28 total categories, each award has a unique evaluation process depending on the trade sector and type of honor at hand.
"We are thrilled to be part of such an important event and to further visibility of India’s jewellery industry," said Tehmasp Printer, managing director of IGI India. "We look forward to supporting well-deserved distinction to members from all corners of the trade."
Voting closes Dec. 28, 2011 and the awards ceremony will be held the night of Jan. 6, 2012 (specific times and venue to be determined). Roland Lorié, CEO, IGI Worldwide, will be in attendance.
