Bombay Jewellery Manufacturers to Launch Naturally Pink™ Diamond Collection

Bombay Jewellery Manufacturers will officially launch the Naturally Pink™ 'Less Than One in a Million™' signature collection at JCK Las Vegas 2012. The fine jewelry line featuring rare pink diamonds will be unveiled June 1-4 at JCK booth S12187 and S12188.

The 'Less Than One in a Million' tag line of the collection signifies the extreme scarcity and limited worldwide supply of natural pink diamonds. It is said that an entire year’s production of pink diamonds would be small enough to fit into the palm of one’s hand.

The launch of this collection will allow consumers to have one of the world's most exquisite and precious diamonds at an affordable price. Collection pieces from the Naturally Pink™ line are priced from $500-$5,000 retail.

When asked about the inspiration to create such a collection, Nihar Mehta, partner at Bombay Jewelry Manufacturers, said "In 2009, we partnered with a retailer in the U.K. to produce a band ring featuring a few small pink diamonds surrounded by white diamonds that retailed at £800. We expected to sell approximately 50 pieces, but within a few short days we received more than 300 orders. It was then, in the midst of a recession, that we realized there was a market gap to fill.”

The Naturally Pink™ collection has a product assortment of both bridal and fashion pieces. The unique designs incorporate natural pink and white diamonds to offset cost and give depth to the designs. Master jewelry skill is evident in the construction and finishing of the jewels. Retailers can choose between 14kt and 18kt and a choice of two different diamond qualities.

But is it not a challenge to maintain the consistency of quality, especially when supply is so limited? “Bombay Jewelry Manufacturers have developed a customized grading system encompassing 54 different grades of the pinks in differing colors and intensities,” says Mehta. “By going into finer details of defining hues from rose pink and purplish to champagne pinks, we have been able to match jewelry suites, especially in pave work, thereby giving consistency as well as using a wider range of material.”
