M. Geller Ltd. announced that the company has achieved Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) certification. The certificate is issued for a 3-year period beginning June 2019.
The RJC is an international organization that helps companies throughout the jewelry supply chain meet the ethical demands imposed by consumers, financial institutions, peers and civil society. RJC’s code of practices gives companies a pathway to achieve sustainable best practices. Certification under the RJC system demonstrates that the member’s business practices conform to RJC’s Code of Practices for business ethics, human rights, social and environmental performance.
“Since our beginning 35 years ago, M. Geller has had its own code of responsible business practices which dictates what we expect from ourselves and our suppliers regarding human rights, child labor, the environment, safety, and full transparency”, stated Marc Geller, President of M. Geller Ltd. “Certification by the RJC is indicative of our unwavering commitment to responsible sourcing and sustainability”, continued Geller, “and we are fully supportive of RJC’s vision of a responsible world-wide supply chain that promotes trust and accountability.”
To receive certification, a company must undergo an independent audit of their systems and business practices relative to RJC’s Code of Practices. The RJC is comprised of over 1,100 organizations that span the supply chain from mine to retail and who are committed to advancing responsible jewelry practices. “We are honored to join the ranks of fellow RJC members,” noted Geller.
