Opportunities for Success at GIA’s New York Jewelry Career Fair

The leading networking event for the gem and jewelry industry, GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair, returns to New York City on Friday, July 13. Whether you are looking to join the incredible gem and jewelry industry or an established professional making a move, the Jewelry Career Fair has something for everyone. Join GIA at the Javits Center (1E Hall) from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for inspiring panel discussions, new opportunities with leading companies and one-on-one coaching from industry insiders. This event is free and open to the public; anyone interested in attending is urged to register.

“Since the inception of GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair our mission has been to foster networking, opportunity and stimulating discussion,” said Kathryn Kimmel, GIA senior vice president and chief marketing officer, and co-founder of the GIA Jewelry Career Fair. “Between the exceptional panelists, face-to-face career advice and array of recruiters at this year’s event, it is sure to garner success for job seekers.”

Nearly 50 companies, including Lorraine Schwartz, Tiffany & Company, London Jewelers, Diamonds Direct and many more are expected at GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair, looking to hire new talent for positions in manufacturing, gemology, retail and more.

The opening panel “Job Success in Today’s Market” offers Career Fair attendees insight and advice from prominent industry personalities including Wendy Brandes, owner and president of Wendy Brandes Jewelry; Greg Kwiat, chief executive officer at KWIAT; Joel Schechter, chief executive officer at HONORA; and recent GIA graduate and emerging talent, Fallon Bock, diamond quality specialist at Leo Schachter Diamond Group.

The GIA New York Jewelry Career Fair takes place the Friday before the JA New York trade show. Additional employers interested in recruiting at this year’s Career Fair can sign up online at GIA.edu/career-fair-recruiter-sign-up or by contacting GIA Career Services at +1 760-603-4542.

GIA hosted its first Jewelry Career Fair in 1991 in Santa Monica, California, USA. Since then, the event has expanded and linked gem and jewelry companies with future employees at more than 60 events in India, Las Vegas, London, New York and the GIA World Headquarters in Carlsbad, California.
