JA New York show management is pleased to announce that GIA will continue to host its annual New York Career Fair in conjunction with the JA New York Show. To be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Javits Center in New York City, this important educational event connects job seekers with opportunities within the gem and jewelry industry. Held just days before the JA New York Spring show, as well as MJSA Expo (March 10-12th), the GIA Career Fair is free and open to any and all of those interested in pursuing a career in the gem and jewelry industry.
“We are delighted to continue hosting GIA’s Career Fair with the JA New York Shows, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to be part of MJSA’s Expo as well,” said Kathryn Kimmel, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of GIA. “Our relationship with JA New York Shows is long-standing, and holding our Career Fair in tandem with this important trade event provides our attendees with a unique opportunity to get a sense of the energy and excitement of a national trade show.”
The co-location of the JA New York Summer Show, the usual venue for GIA’s New York Career Fair, with NY NOW (August 11-14th, 2019) means available space is extremely limited.
“We’re thrilled we were able to work with GIA on hosting their event in March,” noted Drew Lawsky, Show Director of JA New York Shows and PREMIER. “Our organization has an ongoing tradition of supporting new talent in our industry, and our hosting GIA for their annual Career Fair is an extension of an initiative that is a crucial part of our core values. We have always applauded how much GIA gives back, and it is an honor to support them in this important endeavor.”
“GIA contributes so much to the entire jewelry industry, and its annual Career Fair is a key component in ensuring our industry can continue to thrive,” noted David W. Cochran, President and CEO of MJSA. "We're excited to have our Expo run alongside JA New York and GIA's fair this spring; there are so many potential synergies that can benefit all three of our organizations.”
For the third year in a row, JA New York’s Spring Show will be co-located at the Javits Center with the annual MJSA Expo and both organizations will be cross-honoring badges.
