Natural Color Diamond Association Presents Seminar; Hosts Evening Event in Las Vegas

Natural Color Diamond Association Presents Seminar; Hosts Evening Event in Las Vegas The Natural Color Diamond Association will present an educational seminar – and an evening event the next day – at the JCK Show in Las Vegas, taking place from June 1-4, 2018 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The seminar takes place June 1, from 1:15-2:00 pm, on the Showcase Stage, Bayside, Level One. It is entitled, “The Virtues of Natural Diamonds and Natural Color Diamonds,” and it features top experts from the industry. Panelists will discuss how retailers can explain the positive reasons why natural diamonds should be the first choice of consumers.

“Positive reasons include the passion, the tradition and symbolism, and the role of qualified labs in protecting the trade and their clients,” says Alan Bronstein, president of NCDIA. “Other good reasons include the increasing transparency in the supply chain, and the societal benefits to people who work at diamond mines as well as the countless thousands who are employed around the world in the $82 billion gem and jewelry industry.”

The panel will also cover the benefits of natural diamond ownership in terms of “intrinsic value, infinite options, and the opportunity to bequeath the gems to heirs,” says Bronstein.

Moderated by Sonia Esther Soltani, Rapaport magazine editor in chief, the panel includes: Andrew Bone, executive director of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC); Andrew Coxon, president of the De Beers Institute of Diamonds; Thomas Gelb, director of education for NCDIA; Alethea Inns, director of gemology and education for the American Gem Society (AGS); and Nilesh Sheth, president of the Indian Diamond and Colored Stone Association.

Then, on June 2, from 8-10 pm, NCDIA will host a cocktail reception at the Eye Candy Lounge, located in the heart of Mandalay Bay’s casino. JCK attendees are welcome to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and meet members of the NCDIA’s board and other stakeholders. To RSVP, email: [email protected].
