The 2011 Miracle on Madison Avenue philanthropic shopping event on December 4th highlighted its Silver Anniversary and 25 years of support to benefit The Children's Aid Society in New York. The Silver Promotion Service served as one of the lead sponsors. Over 80 premier luxury and jewelry retailers on Madison Avenue donated 20% of the day's sales to the Children's Aid Society. Presented by the Children's Aid Society and Madison Avenue Business Improvement District , the festivities kicked off with a Miracle Shoppers Silver Salute reception at the Georg Jensen Madison Avenue flagship store. Georg Jensen Legacy Bowls were available as a gift with a $150 donation. Co-hosted by the store and the Silver Institute, donations collected at this reception were given to The Children's Aid Society.
"The opportunity to support the Children's Aid Society and the retailers on Madison Avenue who focus on silver jewelry and gifts on the events' silver anniversary offered a unique set of circumstances" said Michael Barlerin, Silver Promotion Service Director. He added, "This is the first step in a program to promote silver as the 25th anniversary gift".
