JIS October Announces new Additions for 2018

It may only be July, but the jewelry industry has already set its sparkling eyes on Miami Beach, Florida for the famous 2018 JIS October Show (October 19-22, 2018). Many expect it to be one of the hottest events of the year. JIS (Jewelers International Showcase) is returning home to a brand-new state of the art Miami Beach Convention Center—after having completed its $620 million renovation and upgrade project—along with an impressive list of new partnerships, new brands, and new show features that will definitely provide for a truly unique show experience for the jewelry trade.

Starting this October, and for the first time ever, JIS has teamed up with the Centurion South Beach Show to bring their curated event—along with an expanded group of nearly 100 high end luxury brands, including a new pavilion of Forevermark suppliers—inside the Miami Beach Convention Center right alongside JIS. Attendees will be able to shop both events with a single badge—whether they have a JIS badge or a Centurion South Beach Show badge, they will have access to each event. But that’s just the tip of the sparkling (jewelry show) iceberg.

Jewelry retailers from across the western hemisphere are already making plans to do their buying for the holiday season at JIS this October, so it is no surprise the demand to exhibit is also very strong. As of late July, the JIS October show is already 30% larger than at the same time last year. This means hundreds of new brands and thousands of new designs, as well as traditional favorites and key items, will all be available for immediate purchase or for order during the show. With exhibitor sales already ahead of schedule and attendee registration pacing ahead over previous years, this is solid proof the jewelry industry is laser focused on JIS in Miami Beach this October.

In addition to the large number of exhibitors joining the show every week and keeping logistics organized, providing a great experience for attendees while making sure the show meets the needs of today’s modern jeweler is always top priority for JIS. This October buyers will find a very logically designed and expanded floor plan featuring dedicated sections (i.e. pavilions) that will make even first-time attendees feel like a trade show pro. The October Show will see the return of all the prior segments from last year but bigger and better than before—which includes a 50% larger Italian Pavilion and a 40% larger upscale Galleria Pavilion featuring a relaxing lounge area, in addition to the Hong Kong Pavilion, Brands Pavilion, the Plumb Club, Fine Jewelry, Sterling Silver, and Affordable Fashion. In the past Sterling Silver and Affordable Fashion were housed together in the Fashion & Silver Pavilion. However, based on customer feedback and JIS’s dedication to providing customers with an easy-to-shop and effective floorplan, this pavilion has been split into two separate and unique sections for buyers to find what they want, easier than before. The larger pavilions, new co-location with the Centurion South Beach Show, relaxing networking lounges, and new exhibitors are all extremely exciting, but that’s not even all the famous October Show has to offer for 2018. It gets even better...

Based on direct feedback and requests from the jewelry industry, JIS has launched a BRAND-NEW segment in the show this year called the ETS Pavilion, modeled after the famous ETS neighborhood at JCK Las Vegas. The Equipment, Technology, and Services (ETS) Pavilion at JIS will feature exhibitors whose products and services play critical supporting roles for the modern jeweler—including software, packaging, tooling, refining, insurance or more. Several well-known companies have already signed on for the new ETS section at JIS including United Precious Metals, Gesswein & Co, Laserstar, Artco, Jewelers Mutual Insurance, and Kassoy.

“Since JIS was acquired by Reed Exhibitions 3 years ago, millions of dollars and thousands upon thousands of hours have been invested in the JIS Shows to provide across-the-board upgrades, all with the goal of delivering a genuinely unique and exciting experience for the jewelry trade. For this coming October, we have specific programs designed to deliver more than a 15% increase in buyers over last year supporting the increase in exhibitor growth - including referral programs, select hotel hosting, and travel incentives. This particular October Show is going to be extremely special because it will be the first time the jewelry industry will get to experience all of these components coming together seamlessly as we return to our home to Miami Beach in the beautiful new Miami Beach Convention Center,” says Jordan Tuchband, Industry Vice President of JIS Shows.

As the second largest jewelry show in the Western Hemisphere—only second to JCK Las Vegas—the JIS October Show is one of the most impressive can’t miss events for the jewelry industry. Visitjisshow.com/October or call +1 (800) 840-5612 to register to attend or apply to exhibit today.
