COUTURE Introduces COUTUREtalks

Education Series Covers Topics Relevant to the COUTURE Community

COUTURE is pleased to introduce COUTUREtalks to their 2019 event. COUTUREtalks is a curated education series covering a variety of subjects that are relevant to the COUTURE community. To take place at COUTURE during breakfasts and lunches at The Wynn Las Vegas, these sessions will focus on of-the-moment topics such as ethical and environmental sustainability, Lab Grown and Mined diamonds, and trend forecasting, presented by the most well-respected authorities in their areas of expertise.

"We wanted to be extremely thoughtful and strategic about rolling out this type of initiative," explains SVP of Emerald Expositions and COUTURE Director, Gannon Brousseau. "We needed to ensure that the subjects we’re focusing on are relevant to our community, and that the speakers and presentations approach these conversations in a unique way that speaks specifically to our audience; we’re confident that the curated programs we’re implementing are aligned with these goals."

On Friday morning, COUTUREtalks will kick off with a discourse on the benefits of Lab Grown and Mined diamonds. Moderated by GIA’s Cathryn Ramirez, the panelists include Sally Morrison from Light Box, Rachel Aaron from Canada Mark, Laura Freedman from Broken English and designer Stephen Webster. Friday afternoon, Paola De Luca from Trendvision will lead a presentation on the effects of the digital era and globalization on emerging phenomena, digital culture and design direction for the jewelry sector. Saturday morning, Stanley Zale, V.P. of diamonds and gemstones at Stuller, will engage the audience on practical steps that our industry can be taking in order to become more environmentally and ethically sustainable. On Saturday afternoon, Paul Boutros and Geoffrey Hess of Phillip’s Auction House will sit down with leading author, photographer and style editor, Matt Hranek, to provide tips on what motivates today’s collectors. COUTUREtalks will be rounded out on Monday morning with a presentation on Intellectual Property Law led by Tiffany Stevens and Sara Yood from Jewelers Vigilance Committee.

COUTURE is taking place May 30th to June 3rd 2019 at the Wynn and Encore Las Vegas.

COUTUREtalks will take place in Petrus 1 Ballroom from 8:30am to 9:30am and from 12:30pm to 1:30pm respectively. RSVP’s will be required in advance of the presentations.
