FIVE SUSPECTS ROB BUSY RETAIL JEWELRY STORE

Flemington, NJ – May 5, 2013

Five armed black male suspects, several of whom are pictured below, entered a retail jewelry store in which there were six employees and five customers on a Sunday at 12:20 p.m. Some employees had their hands bound, customers were ordered to the floor, and other employees were told to open the showcases. The robbery took four minutes and no one was injured. The suspects attempted to conceal their identities by wearing numerous articles of clothing, such as hooded long sleeved shirts and construction helmets. The suspects escaped in two mid-sized sedans with Pennsylvania plates: a white Chrysler 300M, and a black Audi A5 or a BMW. If you have information, contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutors’ Office at  or the Flemington Borough Police at .

LESSONS: Everyone remained calm and cooperated and no one was hurt. A call was made to 911 only when it was safe to do so. Even a busy store with six employees and five customers on a Sunday is still a robbery target for determined robbers.

SUSPECT BUZZED IN HOLDS DOOR FOR TWO OTHER ROBBERS

Denton, TX – May 4, 2013

At 11:45 a.m. on Saturday a male suspect who was the getaway driver was buzzed into a retail jewelry store and then held the door open for two armed male suspects who exited the getaway vehicle and entered the store. One of the suspects held the employees back while the other smashed the showcases and took jewelry. The getaway driver got back into the vehicle to be ready to flee. One of the suspects, pictured below, was wearing a very distinctive mask. If you have information, call Denton Police Investigator Keith Martin at .

COMMENT: It is common for robbers to have one gang member, sometimes a female, with a more innocent appearance get buzzed in and then let in other gang members with concealed identities who are not near the door. When buzzing someone in, try to quickly survey the entire scene outside the store to determine if the circumstances are suspicious and additional caution is called for, including possibly not buzzing the person in.
